Nearby Sugar Pine Point Park and D.L. Bliss State Park offers nature trails for hikes and cross country skiing. Majestic Emerald Bay sits further down the road. A day hike from there will bring you to pristine Eagle Lake, a perfect place for a picnic. Cycle along the west shore's bike path to Tahoe City and beyond.
Visit your own private homeowners' beach a few minutes walk away. The lovely Chambers Landing and Meeks Bay public beaches are also nearby.
Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding:
Homewood Mountain Resort (Five minutes by car), Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley ski resorts
(20 minutes).

Relax and swim at West Shore secluded beaches, including one at Sugar Pine Point Park. Rent kayaks and canoes, parasail and water-ski, enjoy a guided lake cruise or raft the Truckee River.

Tahoma features a small market & and deli, video-rental shop, coffeehouse, pizza parlor (seasonal), and post office. Nearby Homewood and Tahoe City offer many boutiques and shops, grocery stores, a movie theatre, and a variety of lakeshore eateries, including Chamber's Landing, the elegant West Shore Cafe, and picturesque Sunnyside Restaurant.
Gambling:
Five casinos line the north shore of Lake Tahoe, including the famed Cal-Neva Resort, once owned by Frank Sinatra. The South Shore casinos are 45 minutes away.
